2 entries in one week no less....

Actually I'm cheating a little.....I'm going to use an email I sent out as my entry for today.  And I plan on following up with a great example from a client of mine....fingers crossed on that one!!

Can you say 'set yourself up for failure?'

I'm a prime example of how if we put something off long enough it becomes so frightening to think about we cover it up with some dirty old blanket and hope it will either wend it's way into the ether or rot until it's unrecognizable!!

My how time flies...when you're a parent...

I'm sitting on the sofa hoping to crank out a blog before Quinlan wakes up - he's right next to me....and has that incredibly angelic look to him.....

The only truth in life is that life is just a story....and if you don't like your story change it....

I remember a while back when I was attempting to run from Virginia Beach to Phoenix I wrote an article for a magazine called Endurance Athlete.  They felt that I qualified as a contributor.  They were expecting a tale about what it's like to attempt to run 18 miles a day for 130 days - I was on a tight schedule and had to be in Phoenix for the PF Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon by a certain day.  Suffice to say, I never made it to Phoenix.  And I didn't write about endurance.

I have a different opinion of single moms and an observation about habits...

As I expected, it's been a while since I managed to sit down and write.  It's been a while since I've managed to do quite a few things to be honest.

When are we going to own up?

It's Tuesday afternoon and Lisa and Quinlan are down for a nap until he/she wake up for his four o'clock feeding.  Right around that time I'll be training one of my clients and will then drag my weary arse outside for a run.  Probably in the region of 4 or 5 miles.  It's not what I want to do.  And I doubt I'll come close to that theoretical 'runner's high'.  I rarely do.  But I know that if I don't get out there and 'git 'er dun' as they say here in the South, I'm going to become part of a bad statistic - again.

It's a boy....

Lisa gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday at 4:50 pm.  Quinlan Doyle weighed in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.  He's doing great, Lisa is doing great.  I'm doing excellent.....

I think the 3 of you should share this with your friends....

This morning when I woke up my left palm was itching.  In Ireland that's a sign that you're coming into wealth.  Of course in my hedonistic way I assumed it meant I was goint to receive money.  And then this email came and I realize the value of non monetary blessings....

We're having a baby.....next Wednesday at lunch time to be precise.....

I won't go into detail but Lisa and I should be parents by next Wednesday evening....

Meanwhile, I'm going to follow on with my Christmas Carol philosophy.  And it's because of a conversation I had with a mother and daughter at the gym.  So here's the preface of what I'm planning on writing.  I can remember what I was like when I was 18, 28, 38 and of course how I am now at 48.

Just another manic Monday....or is it I don't like Mondays....

I know the BoomTown Rats recorded the second song....I forget who did the first....an English girl I believe....
